Wildness Within, Wildness Without
Exploring Maine's Thoreau-Wabanaki Trail
A Photo Exhibit celebrating the wilderness spirit and recreational heritage of the North Woods of Maine.
In the spring of 2005 Maine Woods Forever commissioned photographer Bridget Besaw to create a series of photographs depicting the various ways people treasure the North Woods of Maine (hiking, fishing, canoeing, swimming, painting, snowshoeing etc.) We’ll be using these images to help raise public interest in the North Woods of Maine and in particular the Thoreau-Wabanaki Trail. The exhibit and book will be featured as integral artistic outreach tools for the trail. The book will be available at the exhibit locations and bookstores through-out New England.
